The Governing Body is made up of volunteers representing different groups. They act as ‘critical friends’ to the school, contribute to strategic management and provide accountability for how the school is run.
The full governing body usually meets twice a term in addition to committees and working groups responsible for Finance, Curriculum and Marketing. A governor may have a specific responsibility for an area of school development.

I joined the governing board when my two children had been at the school for about a year, they have now left and i am still here. Currently I am the co Chair of the board and have key roles overseeing and assisting with Health and Safety, Performance Management and Training as well as sitting on the Resources and Marketing committees.

I am Martina Foster, currently the safeguarding governor at Sheerhatch Primary. With a background in art and design, I now work as a creative freelancer. I joined the governing body in 2018 because I am passionate about our small village school. As a parent of 1 child currently at Sheerhatch Primary, I am deeply invested in our school community. I aim to enhance educational opportunities and ensure every student thrives. Outside of my role, I enjoy music and travel.
