Remote Learning

At Sheerhatch Primary, we are committed to delivering engaging online lessons daily should the need arise, mirroring our usual school timetable to ensure uninterrupted learning for all pupils. The school would use the platform Google Classroom or Class Dojo, to teach content, including live or pre-recorded lessons.  This would be available daily.

We recognise that some families face challenges with connectivity or device access.  In such cases, every effort will be made to loan a Chromebook (or comparable device) to enable remote access.   Should connectivity remain an issue, we will work with families on an individual basis to explore alternatives, such as printed learning packs or data support.

Our remote curriculum will mirror in-school learning where possible, combining direct instruction and independent tasks.  We aim for daily engagement of approximately 3 hours for early years and KS1, and around 4 hours for KS2 pupils.   Teachers will provide timely feedback, maintain regular communication with families, and offer materials that support wellbeing and motivation.

Ultimately, our goal is to uphold a high-quality, inspiring education, whether in school or online, collaborating closely with parents and carers to make learning accessible to every child.
