Welcome to Sheerhatch Primary School, we are delighted that you will be joining the Sheerhatch School Family.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school. In preparation before your child joins us, we need to collect information about your child. Please can I recommend viewing the links at the bottom of this letter. Bedford Borough has a wide range of online resources to help your child to be ‘School Ready.’
We enclose with this letter a New Pupil Admission Form which we would like you to complete and send back to our school as soon as possible. This form asks for your child’s personal details, medical history, and family information including emergency contact details. The contact forms also enable us to check we are working to our information and whether you wish to share details about the use of some personal information about your child. Where consent is required, you have the option to grant or withhold it, and this will be clearly indicated on the sections of the New Pupil Form.
The information you give us is treated confidentially and processed in accordance with the data protection and privacy requirements within the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). The information provided will only be used for the intended purpose of education. However, we have a legal obligation to enable us to function as a school and to safeguard the children in our care.
We enclose a School Privacy Notice which provides you with further details about the types of personal data the school may process, for what purposes and who, if any, we share data with in order to ensure this data is secure. This notice also gives information about your rights as the parent or carer as well as the Data Subject on behalf of your child (if under the age of 11) which are granted under the UK GDPR.
We ask that you read our School Privacy Notice carefully, a copy of which is located on our school website at www.sheerhatchprimary.org.uk, which will be kept up-to-date to reflect any changes in our data collections and data protection procedures during the academic year.
